She Found It….

Her voice, that is.  Holy cow, she is so loud!  I love it, but, wow!

Me And My Drooley McGee

This is my new jam I sing with Emmy.  She loves to drool when she plays.  Not sure if it’s excitement drool or something that just happens when she lays on her back and talks, but it’s adorable.  I’m enjoying the pre-teething drool while I can.

She has also recently become obsessed with her hands.  She likes to rub them together, and hold them, and suck on them.  While I take a shower I can see her hands rising over the top of the bassinet.  She raises them up in the air and clasps them together, rubbing them around in one another.  This is helping her become a pro at grabbing and holding onto her links.  Not sure why she is still anti-putting things in her mouth, but I can totally be okay with that phase holding off for a long time!  She does, however, LOVE to lick blankets and loveys.  Got to keep an eye on that girl…

So, I want to cut my hair off.  Like, all of the hair.  I have never had my hair cut shorter than my shoulders, but I am thinking of going a little nuts with it.  Somewhere between shoulders and pixie.  Currently it is about halfway down my back.  Don’t be jealous, it doesn’t look as good, like you may be imagining.  Due to my PCOS, as my hair grows, it grows to a point.  A scraggly, thin, horrid looking point of thin hair.  Thin hair should not be long.  The biggest problem is that my hair dresser that I super trust is now almost an hour away.  No chance I could do that, so I’m going to have to trust this huge hair cut to a STRANGER!! Ah!  First world problems, right?  I know.

I almost forgot!  The little lady is also learning to roll onto her sides!  So talented!!  I am so impressed with each little thing she learns.  Babies are amazing.  Like little human sponges! Learning, learning, learning!

Bumbo Baby

My little lady is eleven weeks old today!  She has been holding her head up pretty well over the past two weeks, so I decided that today was the day to try out her Bumbo seat.  I was nervous going in, but those seats are made so perfectly for a baby with slight head control, but no back strength yet.  I’m very impressed!

So here is my gorgeous baby, sitting up “on her own” for the first time ever!  Proud, happy mama!

What A Difference A Day Makes

Today was the first day that Emmy has reached out and actually grasped something.  It was AMAZING!  Think about it… the FIRST time she ever intentionally reached out and grabbed on to something.  She will do this a billion times in life, and I got to see the first!  She has also started batting at her stuffed flower rattle.  It’s like she suddenly knows that it’s there.  She learns something new everyday!

Last night we had our best night of sleep so far!  4.5 – 2.5 – 1! Yes, that’s right, 8 hours!  I know that some babies are sleeping through the night at this point, but I am okay with this for now.  I woke up twice during the 4.5 round to check her breathing.  *Crazy mom or normal mom?*  I’m assuming it was from the trauma of the vaccinations yesterday, but who knows? Maybe it was the start of learning to sleep for longer periods of time?  We will see!

Oh, i meant to mention last night that when I hand expressed that ounce of milk, I put a nipple on it and handed it to my husband.  Well, it was a no go.  She likes the bottle nipple about as much as she like a pacifier, which is not at all.  She is nine weeks old though, and she’s never had a bottle before, so I wasn’t hopeful.  I’m just so glad my boobs are more than up for the task of providing all the milk she needs.  It’s also nice that I am okay with being a homebody.  I know a lot of women wouldn’t be okay with it, but I love it!

Well…. Miss Emmy is ready for bedtime… G’night!
